Home is supposed to be the place where your shoulders drop, right? That's what people say 🏠 But some homes don't feel like rest. Some homes make you listen for footsteps, study moods, close doors gently, swallow words before they become problems. Some homes teach your body to stay alert even when nothing is happening yet. And that's such a lonely thing to explain.
If this is you tonight, I'm sorry 🤍 You are not dramatic for feeling tired in a place that should have felt safe. You're not ungrateful because you crave peace. A roof can protect you from weather and still not protect your nervous system from tension 🌧️ Both things can be true. So make a small home inside the home if you can. Headphones. Blanket. One corner of the bed. A cup of tea. A silly video. A message to someone who feels soft 📱✨ Tiny shelters still matter. One day, I hope you live somewhere your body doesn't need to scan the air before relaxing. A place where doors are just doors, not warning signs. Until then, please don't blame yourself for being exhausted. You were not made to be on guard all the time. You deserve a peace that doesn't ask you to earn it first.
