When someone goes quiet, your whole chest may start making guesses 📵 Did you annoy them? Are they leaving? Did the mood change? Should you fix it? Should you apologize for something you haven't even identified yet? Silence can feel like a locked door if you've been shut out before.
But not every silence is punishment 🌑🤍 Sometimes people are busy, tired, distracted, dealing with their own storms. And sometimes silence is unhealthy, yes, especially when it's used to control you. The hard part is learning the difference without abandoning yourself in panic. Tonight, don't chase clarity from a place of terror. Breathe first. Ask directly later if needed. A simple, 'Hey, are we okay?' is better than building twenty painful stories in your head. Your fear is understandable, but it doesn't get to write the whole script. You deserve communication that feels safe, and you also deserve a nervous system that isn't always on trial 🌙
